Simon receives an encoded message of a man called Elijah Cardigan.
Cardigan is possessed by the thought of getting the world-leadership.
Somewhere in the desert he wants to build an operation-base
downunder. Bit by bit he wants to transport ex-soldiers, members of
the FFL and other suspect individuals there. Together - so his idea -
they be a strong special force and after some training ready to play
3rd world war. He is kind of sick personality. To make his "dream
come true, he need a lot of money. For this reason he calls Simon,
the masterthief. He shall steel rare jewelleries and antiques from
all over the world, then Cardigan wants to sell them for the best
offer. Cardigan blindfolds Simon by telling he is just collecting
them. Simon accept Cardigans offer. Cardigan on his side is worried,
that if Simon finds out the truth, he might quit the job and probably
word against him. He needs someone who "will care" and work for him,
too. Two are better than one. This person must be equal to Simon.
Remembering a woman who worked for the Italian Mafia once, he calls
his old friend Ernesto Bortoletto. Ernesto knows immediately her
codename: Misty Ice. Not only equal to Simon, she is a woman and
Simon loves women. She is as great in changing identities like him,
but theres one difference: she is not afraid to kill if it is
necessary.
They find Misty somewhere in Europe, where she is teaching
computers under the name of Angela Monroe. She says that she quit her
past life years ago. What she does not tell is the reason. Few years
ago she was ambushed an shot in the back. She felt into coma and
almost died. Since this happened, she has nightmares, suffering from
strong pains and is addicted to cocaine and extasy, what leads her to
work not really safe. But Misty is attracted by the idea to get close
to Simon Templar, she is fascinated by him, read many articles about
him, he is her idol and she agrees. It is a challange to find out who
is best. In the end only one will survive.She does not calculate the
factor "love".
Mission one: Simon has to steel some parts of a collection of
Ramses. The pieces are shown in Schoenbrunn (a castle) in Vienna,
Austria. No problem for Simon. When he has finished the job, he
"busts" into another thief on top of the roof of the museum. After a
short fight Simon is lucky and can get away. All he knows is that the
other one was a woman. Strange. It was of course Misty, she showed up
to early on the scene, after finishing her deal at the museum. Next
day Simon takes a train to Tyrol, cause the contactperson will be on
it. From Tyrol he travels to Italy after the weekend. He is now
travelling as Michael .... and sitting next to an old lady, Mrs.
Hayworth. They have a nice conversation. Suddenly the emergency break
goes on. Simon just steps out for a few seconds. Enough time for
"Mrs. Hayworth" alias Misty to vanish with the pieces. She is leaving
a card: "Pleased to meet you, thanks for your cooperation, a fallen
angel.". Simon is pissed, but shortly afterwards, he is receiving a
message on his phone: Act one okay E.C. Goods arrived. What the hell
is going on, who was this woman?
Arriving in Tyrol he forgets the incident an does some skiing. On
a lonier part of the slope he has a light accident. He crashes into
... Misty or better Sabrina Russel. She plays unconcious. He feels
attracted to her and cares. She seem to be hurt on her hand. Simon
invites her to dinner. Strange feelings, has he met her before? In
the evening they meet in a nice little restaurant. Afterwards she
invites him to her appartement. Simon can not get rid, of his feeling
that he knows her, or is it just because her personality is similar
to his. She is hiding something like he. She has got a sad look in
her blue eyes. Those eyes are blue like the ocean and if he does not
care he could be drown in them. She is a mysterium, like an old Egypt
Statue. He compares her...... to Cleopatra. Yes, that is it. She
laughs, when he tell her that. Romantic music, some more wine, they
get closer and closer. Finally ending up in bed and making love to
each other. When Misty awakes the next morning Simon has left. He
quit his room in the hotel and is hon his way to Rome as Mr. Gabriel
..... Misty stay two days longer. She is waiting for a big drug
delivery. Something goes wrong. Misty has to shoot the curier and a
policeman.
Mission two: Simon shall steel icons of the Vatican. Although it
was just one night, Simon can not forget "Sabrina". She is still on
his mind and he needs all his will, to concentrate on the deal. Misty
arrives in Rome and contacts Cardigan to get informations for her
next deal. Cardigan heard about the incident in Austria and asks, if
she is involved. She denies. Cardigang does not really belive her.
Her new deal: Ahmed Sharazan, a rich Arabian, stays in Rome with his
wife, she has rare jewelleries. Misty shall get them. While Simon
succeeds, she fails once more (cause Simon should not have seen her
in Vienna) and is able to escape in the very last minute. Arriving at
her hotel, she wants to take some cocaine. Someone is knocking. She
opens, Ernesto and two of his goones smash her back into the room and
threatten her brutally. Then they tell her: her next false move is
the last. She shall follow Simon to Venice and observe him. Cardigan
wants to know what he does there. As Simon has changed his identity
again finding him is not that easy. Misty hacks into some hotel
computers and succeed. Salvatore ..... Misty becomes Marilyn Taylor.
Observing Simon she just finds out he buys antiques and oh shit not
yet, she feels very attracted to him. Does she love him?
Simon knows that a woman follows his footsteps since his arrival
in Venice. She wants to play? Okay, but he does the rules. Somewhere
in the Lagune he vanishes in an old hause. Misty follows him.
Suddenly he stands infront of her. He wants to know what she is doing
.... just a moment this girl seems familiar to him, very familiar. He
takes her with him. First Misty wants to tell the truth, then she
lies: she was involved in some big cirminal activities, now she wants
to quit, but her organisation do not let her go. She has got order
from them, to sabotage Simon and kill him. No reason was told to her.
If not they kill everyone who is close to her and at least her. She
failed in Vienna, she failed in Tyrol, now she failed here, she can
not do it. She thought Simon is icecold and uses people. That is not
true, she knows now. But to proof they are not joking, the
organisation has killed her brother. She is desperate, do not know
where to turn to, they seem to be everywhere now looking for her and
want to end her life. Simon belives this "drama" and promise to help
her out. He calms her down and they spent another night together. For
the next 24 hours Simon has figured out a plan. Both go to Paris
seperately. In the meantime Cardigan gets totally upset, when Ernesto
tells him how close Misty and Simon got together. Something must
happen.
Mission three: Steeling the Tiger Eye. An enourmous diamond shown
in a museum in Paris. Simon turns into Joseph ..... and Misty becomes
Jaquline Rocheford. By checking the plans of the Museum Simon finds
out, that they have changed the security system. Damned. Telling
Misty about it, she offers her help as she has worked with it not to
long ago. He agrees. Working together, they compare each other
perfectly. The deal is done. Simon tells Misty to meet her later. She
is glad all over. Next day she watches the news: a report about a
shooting, a man called Joseph .... was killed in the morning. She
goes out of control, take some pills, rushes out of the hotel and
jumps into her car. Followed by one of Cardigans goones. Totally
confused she wants to end her life. Then she realizes that somebody
is after her, she stops, calls the guy to the account ant shoot him.
This brings her back "to earth" and she drives back to the hotel.
There is a message on her computer: Hi Fallen Angel, do you belive in
Guardian Angels and everlasting life and love? I am still with you.
Awaiting you in Hawaii. Your new identity waits in an envelope at the
lobby! See you soon. Take care. S. She packs her bags and flys to
Hawaii as Mrs. Mariah ....... Shortly afterwards Ernesto and his
goones show up. To late, all the find is an empty hotel room.
Gladly reunited, Simon and Misty spent a wonderful time together.
On one hand acting like children, on the other endless hungry for
each other, they forget for a while who they really are. One morning
Simon awakes and Misty is not there. She is not far, just in the
bathroom having a shower. Childish he rushes into it and find her on
the ground, sniffing cocaine. Now he comes to knowledge of
everything. Misty wants to end the game. She tells him, that she
badly loves him and want to live on this beautiful dream with him.
Simon tells her that this was a dream for sure, but now it has come
to a bitter end. She betrayed him and used him badly. Misty insits
that she miscalculated him definately. He is the only reason life is
worth living for. She will stop taking drugs and all the other shit.
All she wants is a new chance, a life with him. Inside Simon fights
hard, but he knows this will not work. It is impossible. Nobody can
erase the things that she has done. The best would be to hand her
over to the police. He can not do it. Hysterical she begs him not to
leave. The mask falls, her true face shows up. A whole world shatters
for Simon. He tells her, she is sick, needs help from outside and
leaves without goodbye.
Cardigan and Ernesto are wondering what happened in Paris. But
soon they find out, that it was a tricky deal of Simon. Now he must
die asap, after his deal in Vegas. Arrving in Vegas, Simon calls
Cardigan and tells him that this would be the last job he does for
him, without knowing that they plan to kill him.
Misty changed her mind and decides to work for Simon and helps
him. She checks incoming and outgoing messages and calls of Cardigans
office. BINGO. She must warn Simon. A hard job, cause he will not
trust her easily. She finds him at Ceasars Palace and calls his
attention at a Roulette table. Really unwilling he steps outside with
her. She excuses for the lunatic behaviour at Hawaii, promise to go
to the police and ask for therapy when this is over. But first she
must warn him and tells him the "news" about Cardigan. She has got
secret documents which will lock Cardigan in prison for a long time.
He needs to come with her. As there is still a certain feeling for
this "fallen angel" he agrees. How foolish. Ernest followed Misty
before she went to the Casino and watched her hiding the documents.
Arriving at an old closed down cinema, they do not know, that Ernesto
has placed there a firey welcome for them. Misty hand over the
documents to Simon. BOOM. Fire everywhere, they rush into the cellar,
but the ceilling is wooden and crashes down. Next to them is an old
tank, which seems to explode any second. Simon finds a possibility to
flee, right in this very moment the tank explodes. Misty pushes Simon
aside and gets seriously wounded, by pieces of metal. She saved him.
He carries her outside. Misty feels that she has only seconds to live
and ask for his forgiveness. He holds her close and tell her so, then
she dies in his arms.
It comes to a great showdown "downunder" in the unfinished
operation-base of Cardigan. Cut. Simon walks along a beach. The sky
is overcasted. Suddenly a sunbeam strikes his face, like a warm kiss
and his mind recalls the funniest and romantic moments he has spent
with the Fallen Angel. He smiles, takes a stone and throw it into the
sea. SPLASH......
