Crossplot on The Movie Channel
The Movie Channel has been showing Crossplot, the film Roger Moore made just after he played The Saint. The movie made with many Saint show regulars, including being written by Leigh Vance with additional scenes by John Kruse, and was produced by Saint producer Robert S. Baker.
The film is rarely shown, and is not available on VHS or DVD. Here is a brief summary of the plot:
Roger Moore is an account executive for a advertising agency in the swinging setting of London 1960's mod living. An important account is up for renewal, and Roger finds himself committed to a new ad campaign with a mystery model whose photo somehow gets switched in with the models he was suggesting. He tracks her down, and begins the photo shoot, but things keep getting stranger and more mysterious. Attempts are made to murder the model, and Roger is framed when someone else ends up dead. He flees with the girl, the police and thugs in tow. The plot gets more complicated when it turns out that the girl had actually overheard a sinister plot, but that she didn't realize what it was about -- Roger has to jar her memory and then put all the pieces together in order to prove his innocence and thwart the gang during the Queen's birthday in Hyde Park.Labels: 2004, DVD, Roger Moore
