Therefore with much fanfare and trumpeting, it's time to meet the new Saint!
Adam Rayner as Simon Templar, alias The Saint
Adam is English, just as most people expect Simon Templar to be. The Saint has always been English at the heart, with a well-travelled cosmopolitan history that blends him into a true man of the world.
Adam Rayner most recently starred as the lead role in the TV series, Hunted, and is also known for his work on Doctor Who, Making Waves, and Hawthorne.
He has a wealth of TV shows and movies to watch, as Leslie Charteris first authored the Saint in 1928, and it has been in constant rotation ever since.
Eliza Dushku as Patricia Holm
Playing Simon Templar's on-again-off-again love interest and partner in crime, Dushku's role of Patricia Holm will hopefully recapture some of the years of history between the two.
The show Burn Notice seems to have borrowed heavily from this classic interaction, and it works!
Eliza Patricia Dushku is probably most famous for her appearances on the TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and she did play the role of the teenage daughter in the classic spy thriller, True Lies.

All right.....!!!!!! perhaps now , finally just finally perhaps now we shall have a new rebirth of Templar. {Sorry Lincoln} I have got a feeling that this time is the charm. My wife isn't so happy cause I woke her up to tell her. For the fans Merry Christmas from a man with a Saintly tattoo.

ReplyDeleteWell let hope it pass through & nothing go wrong. I love the Saint since I was 11. I first saw Ian Ogilvy & Roger Moore on TV. Now I got the complete set of eras including Val Kilmer movie one. So I was waiting for Saint to come in the Srceen. I hope more update on Fliming & more.
ReplyDeleteI will be on set Wednesday...I'll let you know what transpires.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of photos on https://www.facebook.com/groups/181472835224894/ from the first day of shooting!
ReplyDelete@Dan Bodenheimer Thanks I locate the Facebook page. It was very interesting. He going to rumoured to drive the Classic Volvo then his new Saint mobile is unknown at the moment. Like James Bond drive his classic Aston Martin then drive his new car on duty. Well I hope Volvo or Jaguar. Jensen is making come back production soon in 2013.
ReplyDeleteA quick comment.....I leave tonight for the hinterlands of Upstate New York to spend time this Holiday with family. So I just wanted to say....thanks.....Roger , Burl , Dan , Ian , The Saint Club Members , Mr. Charteris and the new man on the street Adam. You to Coolio. Thanks for this labor of what I might suspect is love for a classic. Happy Holidays and a peaceful New Year to all.
ReplyDeleteHopefully no news is good news but are there any updates on what is going on ? It has been a while.
ReplyDeleteWe're in post production at the moment and prepping all the promotional material to help sell the show. Hopefully we'll launch officially next month.
ReplyDelete(And whilst I'm admittedly biased, I have to say it looks pretty damn good...)
Good to hear.......post production all ready......looking so forward to this new version.
ReplyDeleteA Simon Templar with a 3-day stub, that is not Simon Templar!
ReplyDeleteI was in an old bookstore in NYC today....I discovered a couple of old Saint mystery magazines and a copy of The Saint in New York. Inside of the book I found this quote that a previous owner wrote inside from Oscar Wilde....."Every Saint has a past , and every sinner has a future." Be interesting to see what future this Saint/Sinner has in store.
ReplyDeleteInterview with Roger Moore on BBC Sat 26 Oct 2013 says this has had the go-ahead . http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-24654682. Let's hope so
ReplyDeleteWell nearly a year later and no news here so I'll say I sadly read on imdb.com it was canceled/not picked up. I'm not committed either way, but Moore's & '60s suaveness was sorely missed to which this and any other show today simply can't even remotely compare. I have & have seen ALL the classic Saint episodes multiple times and it's just fantastic but I'll also get Adam's contribution which seems less crass than Val's 1997 version.
ReplyDeleteWell....the Tv show may not have been picked up but this weekend I took 2 of my grandsons to see the new Minion movie , guess who shows up on a tv screen in the movie.....that's right The Saint. Well atleast it was something
ReplyDeleteAdam Rayner is NOT The Saint. I have only liked Roger Moore, Ian Ogilvy and Simon Dutton in the role. All the other so called "saints" from the past and present were miscast. Andrew Clarke was the worst and Rayner isn't too far behind.
