In The Saint movie from 1997, starring Val Kilmer, Simon Templar used a Nokia 9000i Communicator. In addition to voice calls, the Nokia 9000 Communicator enabled The Saint to send and receive faxes, e-mail and short messages as well as access Internet services and corporate and public databases. Simon also made good use of the electronic calendar, address book, notepad, and calculator.
It is now 10 years later, and in 2007 it seems that The Saint would use something a bit more like the new Apple iPhone. It is infinitely more powerful, with breakthrough Internet desktop-class email, web browsing, Google maps, and searching. I can only imagine the kind of trouble and adventure that The Saint would find with the power of this device. Hmmm, the iPhone is a great phone, but I just can't see Simon Templar using it as he did the Nokia 9000i. If the movie was filmed in 2007, I'm sure he'd use either a 9300, 9500 or the all new Nokia E90.
But hey, who knows =)
