Who Will Be The Saint?
The question on everyone's mind is, who will star as Simon Templar in the new series of The Saint on TNT?
Roger Moore's son, Geoffrey Moore is co-producing the show with Producer William J. MacDonald, and while there was some initial speculation that Geoffrey might take the role on himself, it appears that they are still casting for the role.
Who will be The Saint? Who do you think would make a great Saint for 2007? Please comment below!Labels: 2007, Geoffrey Moore, Roger Moore, TNT, William J. MacDonald

I still think Adrian Paul could be a candidate. Clive Owen is too big a star now for TV.
I'd live to see Toby Stephens in the role.
I'd like to see Rupert Penny-Jones (Spooks, M-15 in America)in the role of Simon Templar. He so looks the part!
I meant Rupert Penry-Jones(Spooks, M-15 (in America)) would be a good Saint, not Rupert Penny-Jones, My mistake!
After reading how LC describes ST in the books, I have come up with this short list.
Richard Armitage.
Tristan Gemmill.
John Hopkins.
Nathaniel Parker.

I would prefer Hugh Grant as Simon Templar. A perfect guy in the style of Roger Moore...
Clive Owen would have been great. And Pierce Brosnan would have been perfect as the older Saint, of course.
I'll put in a vote for Rupert Friend. Give him darker and less floppy hair and I think he'd be excellent. He's on the cusp of being big, but isn't there yet, which might mean he'd be still open to the idea of a series.
In my opinion, Richard Armitage would be perfect. He is the right age at around mid 30's, he has the looks and the height and build. He is'nt a big name actor, but then neither was Daniel Craig. RA could bring the darker side of the Leslie Charteris character out with the right amount of sarcasm and urbanity. BTW, has anybody seen the Michael Madsen show 'Vengence Unlimited'. This is what the producers need to use as a template for the 'new' Saint. It is dark, sarcastic and has character.
